  1. To prevent further water damage, immediately turn off your home’s main water supply. Depending on the amount of water and the location of your shutoff valve you may first need to shutoff the electricity  to avoid electrical shock. If the water is coming from a hot water pipe, shut off the hot water supply on your home’s water heater.
